Your website is your 24/7 salesperson. If it is designed properly, it can bring targeted leads to your business. However, many web designers only focus on the aesthetic part of the site. Although it is important to have a beautiful website, it must be user-friendly and marketable too. If your website cannot convert, it is useless.

Place important call-to-action statements on your website. You need to prompt your website visitors to take a particular action such as purchasing a product or service. So make use of colors and bolding to make important words stand out.

First, I make grids. I love taping huge pieces of butcher paper on my office walls. I label the top row with information headers like; occupation, age, education, disposition, goals, hobbies, strengths, weaknesses, moral make-up, etc.. I make sure to leave one column for notes –any additional tidbits of information that may pop into my head. The left column is for my character’s names. If you’re like me, details can change, so pencil everything in.

Contact Your Past Clients – Say hello to them, let them know you haven’t heard from them for a while and ask if there is anything they need. You might remind them of something they need to get accomplished or a project that needs to be started. A huge amount of work usually comes from repeat customers, so don’t neglect this area!

Never test the website on various browsers. Your website may appear fine on Internet Explorer but not on Google Chrome. So make sure that your web Designer tests your website for browsers compatibility.

The reality is, most businesses that start off with what they think is a good product idea are destined for failure. Your product might be great, but if nobody wants it, your business isn’t going to get very far!

Starting any small business can be a risk. Choose a business that requires little money to start up. Resist sinking a lot of money into your business straight away, even if you have it. A business that can be run on a shoestring budget is best when you are just starting out since you won’t be hundred percent sure that it will work. You can always invest more money into the business as it grows.
